Aim and Scope

Childhood in Africa: An Interdisciplinary Journal (CAJ) is the official publication of The Institute for the African Child (IAC) at Ohio University (ISSN 0000-0000). CAJ is published bi-annually, online, through the Institute for the African Child website, www.afrchild.ohio.edu/CAJ.

CAJ follows the goals of the Institute for the African Child by:

1. Encouraging holistic approaches to the understanding of issues impacting children and childhood in Africa.
2. Publishing articles that reflect African and Africanist perspectives regarding children and childhood.
3. Including all academic disciplines in the discussion of childhood in Africa.
4. Furthering the professional interests of Africanists by disseminating knowledge about children and childhood in Africa.
